Speech technologies provider Loquendo (News - Alert), a Telecom Italia company headquartered in Turin, has announced the release of the latest version of Loquendo TTS - version 7.7, which boasts improved audio quality and a smaller footprint.
The company’s text-to-speech (TTS) solution offers multilingual, multi-platform synthetic speech that can be easily integrated into any environment or device. It also offers 44.1 kHz and a wider choice of sampling frequencies and bitrates, so that developers can better balance the trade-off between quality and resources for producing voice solutions.
In addition to these enhancements, Loquendo has also improved voice quality for the multimedia version thanks to their patented encoding algorithm. Also, for Web apps, the latest version offers a new Remote API Module that makes it easier to develop client-server architectures and makes it possible to control the TTS APIs remotely.
Energy and space savings are also achieved with the latest version as it is compatible with 64-bit processors and operating systems – so more channels can be handled concurrently on the same server.
Loquendo’s TTS solution is available in 26 languages and 63 voices and provides truly natural sounding voices that are able to read any kind of dynamic data and prompts.
Earlier this year, the technology was chosen by ESRI (News - Alert), a provider of Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies, to speech enable a new in-vehicle navigation solution.
The offering, ArcLogistics Navigator, is intended for use by trucking, fleet and logistics applications to help keep drivers on route and on time.
