By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to make it easier for call centers in the U.S. and Canada to have advanced speech technologies, Loquendo and MicroAutomation have announced a partnership for technical support and professional services.

MicroAutomation (News - Alert) is a systems integrator of call center automation solutions and will make it possible for customers to enhance their current applications by easily adding Loquendo (News - Alert) speech products and services. This includes the company's text-to-speech (TTS) and speech recognition (ASR) offerings, which provide a number of voices and languages to choose from.

Currently, the company offers 26 languages with 62 voices in both male and female versions and including U.S. and U.K. English, Castilian, Catalan, American Spanish, Mexican, Chilean and Argentinean Spanish, Italian, German, Esperanto, and much more.

“Loquendo is the fastest growing international Speech Company in the world.  Together, our companies are in a position to provide exceptional U.S. based support and professional services for Loquendo and MicroAutomation’s growing U.S. customer base,” said Suresh Gursahaney, President and CEO at MicroAutomation.

“By combining our respective areas of expertise, this partnership provides both a comprehensive and cost-effective solution for all organizations, regardless of size.”

MicroAutomation is the first U.S.-based Loquendo certified partner and will help the company to further expand their presence in both the U.S. and Canadian markets.

“MicroAutomation is one of the US market’s leading systems integrators, with extensive experience in the call center and professional services fields” said Davide Franco (News - Alert), Chairman and CEO of Loquendo. “Their customer-orientation and their market leadership make them a choice partner to assist Loquendo in supporting U.S. and Canada based customers that are looking for world class IVR and Speech enabled solutions.

Loquendo's expansion into other markets around the world hasn’t slowed either. Recently, the company made headlines with the announcement that it now offers speech recognition in Russian, a key language in the European market.

Also, the company announced the latest addition to its family of TTS voices, Mikko, a male Finnish voice that further expands their presence in the Scandinavian markets.

In addition, the company is focused on improving academics in speech related fields and has said it will sponsor an international master’s degree in Human Language Technology and Interfaces (HLTI) at the University of Trento  as well as sponsor a Masters and PhD Speech Studies for Spain's National Research Council (CSIC).
