Loquendo Continues Growing Speech Footprint

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Aside from adding a ton of new voices to their TTS family and working to further grow their speech technologies, Loquendo (News - Alert) is also a Gold sponsor of the upcoming Navigation & Location USA event.

Loquendo will join Google (News - Alert), Yahoo!, Nokia and other industry speakers at the event to discuss topics like next-gen connected services, pedestrian navigation, location privacy and more.

Loquendo offers speech technology products and a wide array of languages for servers, desktops, PDAs and embedded environments.

Their TTS family of voices provide natural sounding voices capable of reading all types of data and prompts in an expressive and emotional manner. Including pronunciation accuracy, intonation and natural timbre.

TTS can be used to voice enable IVR, e-learning, entertainment and a number of other applications and is available in a number of languages including Greek, Turkish, American Spanish, Canadian French, Mandarin Chinese, Dutch, Russian, and many more.

Most recently, the company introduced Milla, a female Finnish voice and the first Finnish voice to be offered by the company as well as Olga, the first Russian voice - furthering their footprint in both the Scandinavian and European markets.

The continued release of new TTS voices and languages helps Loquendo to bolster its international presence while providing more choices for developing multilingual applications.

The company also recently introduced Steven - an American English voice that brings the number of U.S. English voices offered by the company to five.

The latest version of Loquendo TTS, version 7.5,  was announced earlier this year and includes a number of new features like support for Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.1 and a number of new functionalities to improve prompt development.
