Speech Recognition and Text to Speech provider, Loquendo, announced today the availability of new automatic speech recognition (ASR) in Polish.
Earlier this year, text-to-speech (TTS) voices in Polish were released in both the male and female voices of Zosia and Krzysztof.
With the new Polish speech recognition capabilities, Loquendo is able to prove continued language support for a growing European market and particularly Poland, a growing market segment of the European Union as well as further secure their foothold in the global speech market.
The Polish speech capabilities are Loquendo's first speech technology in a Slavic language and help to open the door to an entirely new linguistic family of speech.
Loquendo's ASR technology provides a speaker-independent solution for accurate and reliable recognition of vocabulary, regardless of the environment.
The company also announced today that their Polish speech capabilities along with their Italian and French offerings have been adopted by the LUNA consortium project for their IST Research and Development program.
The LUNA (Spoken Language Understanding in Multilingual Communications Systems (News - Alert)) project was established to create a natural spoken language-understanding toolkit that facilitates multilingual dialogue.
Just last week Loquendo announced the release of latest version of their ASR technology, version 7.2. This version includes faster recognition and strengthened grammar possibilities for more intelligent, automated speech.
