Loquendo MRCP Now Rated Avaya Compliant

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Loquendo (News - Alert), a speech technology provider, has announced that its Loquendo MRCP Server, in its version Loquendo Speech Suite 7.0, is compliant with key, open standards-based Web self-service and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony solutions, from Avaya (News - Alert).

The MRCP Server from Loquendo offers an optimized server-based solution designed for large-scale telephony deployments of speech technologies, including contact centers, message and e-mail reading and self-service applications.

Loquendo MRCP Server enables clients to take advantage of the full range of Loquendo speech technologies using a flexible, standards-based, client-server architecture. It is positioned as the ideal solution for system integrators looking for high quality, multilingual speech technologies to boost the performance of their existing interactive voice response (IVR) services.

The solution is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Interactive Response 3.0, Avaya Communication Manager 4.0 and Avaya Voice Portal 4.0.

"Loquendo has always been actively involved in the support for industry standards," says Daniele Sereno, Loquendo vice president for Product Engineering, in a Wednesday statement.

"Avaya compliance allows our partners and clients to carry out seamless and brand-independent upgrades to new releases and languages, future-proofing their investments."

Loquendo is a gold member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program. This program was established to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

The company’s membership level in the program makes it eligible to submit for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft N.J. In the lab, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Loquendo who are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in Wednesday’s statement.

"They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available - getting more out of their multi-vendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."

The demand for speech technologies continues to grow as consumers are increasingly demanding more self-service options and companies are seeking to streamline customer interactions. With this recognition from Avaya, Loquendo is now better positioned to drive further revenues within its market, while also extending its reach into expanded opportunities now available.
