Leading Software has been chosen to provide a secure 24 hour, 365 days a year service to Atos Origin’s key financial service and public sector clients. The company is leveraging the latest voice biometric technologies from Loquendo (News - Alert).

Loquendo is a provider of speech recognition technologies, while Atos Origin is an international IT services company and Leading Software is a global provider of secure voice biometric identity management solutions.

Currently, Atos Origin provides help desk support to over 1200 Global blue chip companies with over 12M call annually and over 1M Password Resets per annum. “This voice biometric password reset solution from Leading Software and powered by Loquendo speech recognition technology forms a crucial part of our strategy to drive calls to our Service Desk down whilst improving efficiencies to ourselves and our clients,” said Mike Mathews, service desk product manager for UK at Atos Origin.

Surinder Singh, vice president of global sales at Leading Software, noted that a large amount of IT help desk support is spent on resetting and issuing new passwords to staff who have lost or forgotten theirs, particularly after traditional holiday periods when staff return to work.

Singh believes that the solutions to the perennial Help Desk problem of resetting passwords will not only free up Help Desk time to offer clients a more efficient and robust service but will also “significantly reduce operational costs.”

Making use of the voiceprint as a biometric measure, Loquendo Speaker Verification verifies an individual’s identity. Company officials said that it results in high user acceptance and requires no specialized equipment - just a phone.

Additionally, Loquendo Speaker Verification can be used in a wide range variety of application contexts, including phone banking and trading, password resetting, accessing customer care services, credit card activation, transactions and payments.

Leading Software conducted comprehensive analysis of Atos Origin’s UK operations, and installed and integrated employee enrolment of a voice based biometric self-service password system into existing systems with no personal data associated with the user’s voiceprint.
