The new offering is currently being demonstrated at CTIA Wireless (

With the offering, mobile search providers are able to add voice-enabled search to their music search and download applications. This will help drive consumer spending on mobile music content due to the ease and simplicity with which mobile music content and be found.

Alert) anticipates global spending on mobile music to reach $32.3 billion by 2012-- more than doubling the revenues of $13.7 billion which are expected for 2007.
Nuance Communications also announced today the closing of its acquisition of Focus Infomatics.
The acquisition will expand its ability to provide web-based speech recognition editing services as well as enhance manual transcriptions for healthcare—further strengthening the companies positioning in the market.
Paul Ricci, chairman and CEO at Nuance, said in a
statement, "In particular, Focus' outstanding reputation for speech editing services and highly skilled workforce will support the rapid growth of iChart, our hosted speech-enabled transcription service. By combining Nuance's premier speech technology and Focus' proven services, we expect to accelerate our objective to eliminate manual transcription."
