In the world of audio search and speech analytics technology, Nexidia (News - Alert) is proving to be an all-star, as the audio analysis and dialogue search technology provider has received accolades from several major media companies.
Four top industry news sources have recognized Nexidia for Avid PhraseFind and AV3 Software’s “Get” for Final Cut Pro, two products powered by Nexidia.
First, Avid Phrasefind garnered attention at the recent National Association of Broadcasters conference for its ability to easily discover spoken phrases within media clips, thus speeding up the creative process. At the show, Avid PhraseFind was among 20 products among hundreds displayed to receive a Best of Show “Vidy” Award from Videography magazine.
“Our teams searched the NAB show floor for products that were truly deserving of recognition,” said Eric Trabb, vice president and group publisher of NewBay Media Broadcast & Video Group, owner of Videography and TVTechnology. “Recognition with an award at NAB from the Broadcast & Video Group is a strong vote of confidence and admiration from this leading publication.”
Tapped as one of this year’s “pre-eminent technological innovations,” Avid PhraseFind was also honored with the “STAR (News - Alert)” award by TVTechnology magazine.
Both awards should be of no surprise, as Avid PhraseFind has long been bringing value and innovation to media companies. Often used with the award-winning Avid ScriptSync, another product powered by Nexidia, Avid PhraseFind significantly accelerates the story creation process by “time-aligning takes to a script for preview and text-based editing.” Users simply type in a word or phrase, and the solution finds and previews where the phrase is located in a timely and efficient manner, thus significantly reducing logging and transcription work and, of course, costs.
“Nexidia technologies help content creators be more creative and let media owners unearth more value from their libraries,” said Drew Lanham, Nexidia’s senior vice president and general manager of media. “But bringing that value to market can require finding the right partners, and PhraseFind is an excellent example of what can happen when innovative technology is in the hands of an industry leader such as Avid.”
On top of these coveted awards, AV3 Software’s Get” for Final Cut Pro – a solution designed and developed by Nexidia – was also recognized by digital media professionals website resource Creative Communities of the World (Creative Cow). According to solutions reviewer Oliver Peter, Get’s value “extends beyond the needs of an editor… Story editors, loggers and news reporters can all benefit from Get as a way to research and organize any dialogue-based media files.”
This marks the second consecutive year for AV3 to be awarded at NAB, as it received the Black Diamond Award for “Best of Show” by DV Magazine at last year’s event. DV Magazine also awarded AV3 Get v1.1 with its Excellence Award and a 5-Diamond rating.
Nexidia also received quite the VIP treatment, earning a spot to display its next-generation media technology at the NAB Post Pit by the Hollywood Post Alliance, which picked Nexidia’s HPA Tech Retreat 2011 demonstration to be the “best.”
