Concept Searching Joins Canada's Software Licensing Supply Arrangement

Management software company Concept Searching has been approved by Canadian government bodies to deploy its products among its workforce.

The company’s products, such as the Smart Content Framework, are used in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management.

Concept Searching was approved by Canadian Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to join the Canadian government’s Software Licensing Supply Arrangement (SLSA). The SLSA manages the procurement of new software products for public use until December 2014.

“Our Canadian client base is growing quickly. Acceptance into this program will assist many of our government prospects in facilitating the purchasing process for our software,” said Martin Garland, president of Concept Searching, in a statement. “We are proud of achieving this recognition by the Canadian government and look forward to working with our partners to deliver value for the government.”

Concept Searching will also be working with a federal procurement partner, Advanced Chippewa Technologies (ACT), who is based in Ottawa and specializes in networking and performance testing.

While Concept Searching’s headquarters are based in Virginia, it also has offices in Canada, UK, and South Africa.  The company touts its services for a number of awards it has won and for being platform agnostic, and describes itself as an industry leader.

“Metadata matters. The lack of understanding and management of metadata as the core component in any application that requires metadata is amazing. These challenges cross broad applications, from records management to social tagging. Two key objectives that should be priorities for any executive team are data breaches and non-compliance,” explained Martin Garland, president at Concept Searching.

The new Canadian deal follows another new partnership forged in Germany earlier in July. Concept Searching is now working with the Bundeswehr, Germany’s armed forces. The company has also been expanding its operations with military bodies, with clients that include the U.S. Air Force and U.S. army.

Meanwhile, July has been a busy month for the company, also adding $45 billion insurance company XL Group to its growing financial services client base.
