Flexera Obtains BMC's Technology Alliance Program Validation

Flexera Software is a company that helps application producers and enterprises increase application usage and the value they derive from their software by providing services such as software licensing management and software compliance, as well as installation and application packaging solutions.

This week, the company announced that it has received BMC Software (News - Alert) Technology Alliance Program (TAP) validation for the integration of its software license optimization solution, FlexNet Manager Suite for Enterprises, with three BMC Software solutions. BMC Software delivers innovative IT management solutions that enable customers to power complex technology into remarkable business performance. The three BMC software solutions that will be integrated with FlexNet Manager Suite are BMC Remedy IT Asset Management, BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping and BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (Atrium CMDB).

The amalgamation of Flexera’s FlexNet Manager Suite for Enterprises with the BMC Software solutions will allow mutual customers to achieve greater business from their IT service catalog, CMDB, asset management and software license optimization solutions, which will enhance the general value of the IT services team to the venture.

The addition of BMC’s Atrium Discovery to FlexNet Manager Suite will introduce patterns that broaden configuration discovery to gather additional information that is necessary for the identification, management and optimization of applications that use complex license models. The patterns provided by BMC’s Atrium Discovery specifically target software file and package evidence, as well as hardware and user properties.

This improved evidence is used by FlexNet Manager Suite to ensure that the software inventory it collects is complete, accurate and efficient for delivering recurrent compliance and Software License Optimization. Combining rich hardware asset data from BMC Atrium Discovery improves the knowledge base that FlexNet Manager Suite uses to deliver optimization.
