Flexera Ensures Software Licensing Compliance in Multiple Environments

Flexera Software, a provider of software licensing optimization solutions, upgraded its FlexNet Manager Suite for Enterprises to ensure license compliance as companies migrate to virtualized environment and implement sophisticated enterprise apps.

The latest release of the software licensing solution comes with advanced capabilities that empower enterprises to manage complex licenses, maintain software license compliance and optimize license usage in virtual environments, the cloud, and across enterprise software estates, the company said.

An important enhancement to the software licensing solution is the new FlexNet Manager Platform inventory adapter that enables companies to collect the necessary data and optimize desktop software licenses for applications running in the Citrix XenDesktop virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment.

Companies are increasingly adopting Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure to facilitate easier distribution and consumption of software.

FlexNet Manager Platform now encapsulates the license mobility product use rights of major vendors such as IBM, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft (News - Alert), Symantec and Adobe, so companies can maintain license compliance both on-premises and in the cloud.

FlexNet Manager for IBM now offers enhanced functionality to calculate IBM Processor (News - Alert) Value Unit (PVU) consumption in VMware server cluster environments. FlexNet Manager Suite also contains significant new enhancements providing powerful license optimization capabilities for complex enterprise application licenses.

Further, the FlexNet Manager Platform now provides a new Oracle (News - Alert) Application User license model, enabling easier license management for most Oracle E-Business Suite applications and offering enterprises a more comprehensive solution for controlling costs for their Oracle software licenses.
