REDCOM Laboratories, which designs and manufactures fully interoperable telecommunications systems, announced that it will be exhibiting its secure converged warfighter communications solutions at the 2010 Defense Information System Agency Customer Partnership Conference in Nashville, to be held May 3 to 7.
The company is a key partner with DISA for military-grade Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) or "SIP," also known as assured services SIP or "AS-SIP" initiative.
At the DISA Customer Partnership Conference, REDCOM (News - Alert) will showcase its HDX and SLICE 2100 softswitches that support AS-SIP signaling requirements for Local Session Controller.
The LSC, REDCOM officials said, is responsible for protocol conversion from analog, digital and IP on the line side to AS-SIP on the trunk side. It is also instrumental in enforcing AS-SIP trunk policies such as Multi-Level Precedence and Preemption or "MLPP" for calls made from SIP phones.
"We are proud to be a key AS-SIP partner with DISA in this important initiative for warfighter communications," said Dinah Gueldenpfennig, vice president of planning and government program administration, REDCOM. "As a company, we are committed to ensuring that our portfolio of switching systems for the DoD market fully support the AS-SIP requirements as defined by the Unified Capabilities Requirements for telecom switching equipment."
For the DoD market, AS-SIP provides military-unique features such as MLPP for establishing communication with resource priorities, ensuring system and network access and control, and providing precedence and pre-emption policies to assure connectivity, according to REDCOM officials.
This essential element of command and control ensures that the most important calls get through and are able to "tandem" and deliver priority calls for end-to-end warfighter communications, they added.
REDCOM's portfolio of JITC-tested and certified switching equipment delivers highly secure, interoperable, rugged and reliable VoIP solutions for tactical and strategic application for all military applications, the company claimed.
The company offers REDCOM's SLICE 2100 in a slim 1U platform for tactical communications deployments while the scalable and stackable HDX•C "building block" approach enables reach back support in the field.
REDCOM's TRANSip allows for secure and interoperable warfighter communications with its breakthrough technology that delivers secure tactical and strategic integrated VoIP for Joint, NATO and Coalition Forces.
Whether in a foxhole or at the Pentagon, REDCOM's TRANSip technology suite converges tactical and strategic networks built from a broad range of technologies for maximum interoperability, the company said.
With these solutions, REDCOM is able to meet DoD's requirements.
Earlier in March REDCOM Laboratories announced it has completed SIP interoperability testing for its HDX and SLICE 2100 Carrier-Class 4/5 softswitches with a wide range of SoundPoint IP phones from Polycom. Read the full report here.
