Next gen service providers have a lot on their plates. And among the day-to-day issues, they’re focused on making the right long-term investments.
Recently TMCnet sat down to talk with Carlos Sanchez, REDCOM’s (News - Alert) vice president of sales for the Americas. REDCOM makes fully integrated VoIP and Softswitch products, as well as other offerings for service providers. Among the topics he spoke about? Issues facing next-generation providers.
Speaking of the products REDCOM offers, Sanchez said the company’s systems were “fully integrated. Our core technology, TRANSip, integrates the media gateway, media gateway controller, in the same platform, so you don’t have to rely on external servers for features to make the system fully operational.”
Coupled with that, he noted, “our VoIP capabilities are already built in. So with our core technology, TRANSip, service providers can respond to consumers’ demands for next-generation services, and capitalize on new opportunities using the legacy infrastructure.”
The REDCOM HDX and the Slice 2100 allow service providers to deploy flexible networks, he said, that can adapt to changes and user demands, regulatory conditions: “These next-generation services basically allow service providers to do more for enhancing services with less hardware.”
TMC (News - Alert) recently reported REDCOM’s HDX and Slice 2100 Carrier-Class softswitch platforms “enable service providers to deploy flexible networks that can adapt to increasing end-user demands and competitive industry dynamics at a lower operating cost,” according to company officials.
“One of the great benefits of a REDCOM System is that it does not require recurring expenditures like mandatory service agreements or software upgrades, thus positively impacting your bottom line,” the officials said, adding that “whether service providers are looking to add DSL or IPTV (News - Alert) services, REDCOM has them covered when it comes to an interoperable carrier-class solution that interfaces with these value-added services.”
REDCOM’s carrier-class Slice 2100 and HDX softswitches allow service providers to future proof their networks to interoperate today, respecting the past and anticipating the future with a wide range of protocols and interfaces, positioning them for long-term growth.
