While it may be a stretch to say that Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is becoming the “meat and potatoes” of the telecom space, at least one of the country’s best known steak houses has deployed it alongside some of their signature dishes.
Global IP business telephony and communications player Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom recently extended its reach into the restaurant space with its cost saving services when the Israel-based outfit announced that Bern's Steak House, a Tampa Bay, Florida staple in the city’s restaurant scene since 1956, has picked its solutions to deploy throughout its operations.
Bern's Steak House has an extensive organic menu and is known for a massive wine list. In fact, David Laxer, president of Bern’s Steakhouse, Inc, says Bern's has the largest and most diverse wine list of any restaurant in the world.
And keeping the wine list current with vineyards across the globe requires an efficient and up-to-date communications system.
When restaurant management realized its three aging key systems were literally falling apart after years of extensive use that is common in a busy restaurant, the Bern’s staff looked to Tadiran Telecom to provide a platform to increase efficiency and service levels.
After looking at a broad range of telephony “menu items”, Bern’s selected CSM and the Tadiran IP Office system because of its reputation for reliability, scalability and feature rich functionality, according to Laxer.
“CSM delivered exactly what we expected to get out of a VoIP system powerful features, full system control, reliable operation and ease of use,” said Laxer.
One of the major benefits of the Tadiran VoIP network is it enables users with key information and control allowing them to provide a significantly higher level of personalized attention to callers.
The network is designed to allow all the restaurant’s offices to communicate toll free utilizing voice over IP (VoIP) telephony and IP Telephones. Because the network architecture resembles a private network, every phone has a four digit number within the network, enabling seamless communication between offices, according to the company.
As TMCnet recently reported, the Tadiran has been saving organizations on call costs, as well as providing a centralized management for users for some time now.
Tadiran sells and supports a full line of telecommunications solutions through local and regional Business Partners. Its Coral IPx IP communications solutions are designed to offer an easier and cost effective migration path to IP-based telecommunications. The Coral communications systems function as VoIP telephony servers and traditional switches, while combining feature-rich IP technology with traditional TDM telephony.
