OTEL Telecoms, a licensed South African national telecoms carrier, has launched a new hosted PBX (News - Alert) switch with multi-tenant capability. Called CloudAstrix Business Edition, it features a fully functional modern hosted PBX solution for enterprise and telephone service providers worldwide.
“As hosted telephony becomes increasingly critical to business success, enterprises are seeking solutions which can increase productivity thus realizing higher profits. Telephony service providers are looking for ways to provide enterprises with these solutions quickly and cost-effectively,” said Kiran Kolli, head of development at OTEL Telecoms, in a statement. “However, we know that if a softswitch is complicated and requires third-party software to handle its CRM and service billing, they won't be used.”
OTEL is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider with an established national VoIP and broadband infrastructure.
OTEL provides first-tier carrier voice and broadband over fiber service, carrier grade VoIP switches, billing system integrating radius, VoIP and hosting globally.
Officials with OTEL Telecoms said that the CloudAstrix Business Edition offers enterprises free licensing of its on-site or hosted PBX software, with limited annual ticket based support contract included.
Thanks to this licensing model, PBX Service Providers will now be motivated to deploy CloudAstrix Business Edition as it is accompanied with a stable technical support contract which makes it a more attractive proposition than open source PBXs or costly conventional telephony systems.
Mohammad Patel, CEO of OTEL Telecoms said that Business Edition was designed to promote the company’s flagship CloudAstrix Service Provider Edition, which is used by many Internet service providers worldwide.
Internet service providers using the Business Edition alongside the CloudAstrix SPE wholesale softswitch will be eligible for 100 extension license at no extra cost.
Company officials pointed out that like CloudAstrix SPE, Business edition also uses the WHMCS ISP Billing platform to manage its users, provisioning and clients. All PBXs deployed by the service provider can be managed via one login and one screen, a world first in service provider VoIP softswitches.
“We've simplified the user interface to accommodate the new entrants to ITSP. The switch however provides stable yet powerful functions to its users,” said Kolli.
