Allworx (News - Alert), a Windstream company and developer of Internet Protocol (IP) based phone systems, recently unveiled two versions of Interact, the company’s application that allows Allworx users to view and answer incoming calls from their PCs.
Available as a per-user license, Interact Professional adds the aspect of control to the application in a series of dockable windows. The ability to see the presence and handset status of other Allworx users prior to placing calls makes connecting with co-workers easier than ever before. A search capability enables entries in the Allworx directory and the user’s contact list to be quickly found and utilized for error free, rapid dialing. To allow easy search and one click dialing, Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook contacts are also incorporated into the Interact database. The users also have quick access to presence management, call history and contacts.
"Interact brings the Allworx capabilities our customers expect to more devices they use every day, improving the user experience not just by speeding up call handling and reducing calling errors, but by providing customers with the information they need to effectively connect with the people they work with every day," said Chris Hasenauer, vice president and general manager of Allworx. "Interact gives our customers the control they need, providing them with the competitive edge they need to better serve their own customers."
Allworx delivers VoIP (Voice over IP) unified communications systems to a wide range of industries including not-for-profit and government locations through a network of authorized dealers. The company recently launched PowerFlex – a new line of Ethernet switches.
The latest offering from Allworx is aimed at making the customer experience of upgrading to next generation communications capabilities much easier starting with the installation and including on-going support of the new products and Allworx existing systems. The PowerFlex line consists of three products, which suit the different Allworx voice server sizes.
