IPitomy (News - Alert), a provider of IP-PBX platforms, has unveiled its new IP PBX (News - Alert) In-Context help feature that helps users learn all the practical aspects of VoIP technology.
Thanks to the new Help feature, engineers can constantly update and clarify information in the Wiki so when a user clicks the help button, they get the latest updated information.
The real time In-Context help system does away with searching through electronic documents, the company said. It features a help button that, upon clicking, brings up a Wiki providing specific information relevant to that page. It takes the user to the exact location in the online IPitomy Wiki that pertains to the specific programming task at hand.
IPitomy designs and manufactures a complete line of IP telephony equipment, including IP PBX systems, IP telephones, desktop call manager and call center software.
The new In-Context Help feature takes electronic documentation a step further and personalizes the electronic manual at the click of the mouse. For example, from the programming interface, if a user is unsure what the programming fields are for, clicking the ‘Help’ button will open another browser window in the IPitomy Wiki. Users do not have to go the search page; instead they are directly taken to the page where specific information relating to that task is available.
Matthew Bellisario, a telecommunications industry veteran, said, “I wish I would have had this back when I was installing phone systems and working on cellular field equipment. It would have saved me hours of digging through printed and digital documentation, not to mention time wasted on technical support calls! The pertinent information you need to program the IPitomy is available at the click of the mouse.”
