Ukrainian telecommunications company IXC recently released the newest version of its softswitch, the IXC softswitch V5, saying that it is the “best class 4 softswitch in many aspects” and features a newly optimized Web configuration system, Autotester function, enhanced billing section and resolved bugs.
Company officials said the newly optimized Web configuration system is now much faster and features call-ID field to CDR templates. In addition to be being convenient, the configuration of originators is a lot easier. For all the softswitches inside clusters, the CPU’s graph and active calls are exhibited in an organized way.
Like Web configuration, the Autotester function is newly optimized and now comes with new options as per the demands of the users. Company officials said that a new flexible configuration on the multiple calls has been added and all the procedures of Autotester are accessible via API along with fax calls.
There were complaints of bugs in the earlier versions of IXC softswitch. In the latest version, the company has fixed a bug -- which triggered the crashes of the softswitch -- inside one of the core of the softswitch.
Additionally, the new version no longer comes with other bugs found in the earlier versions, including the one that used to cause incorrect billing by receiving wrong invitation messages. Company officials said that as the IXC Softswitch is free from bugs, the new version will work a lot better for the users.
The enhanced billing section comes with a call cost service, which can enable recalculation of the calls with wrong costing. The call path feature is also linked with all the necessary fields.
In comparison to the previous version, the generation of utility of invoices is able to work “way faster than before” in the newest version.
Plus, many SIP messages are now being parsed by IXC softswitch V5. Company officials said that if there are older devices to work with, this tool is important.
Last month, IXC introduced the IXC Softswitch Light, a softswitch built with all the necessary means to make it a must-have tool for any VoIP operator. The IXC softswitch is a high-performance, scalable Class 4 VoIP softswitch solution with a user-friendly GUI Web interface that enables secure large VoIP traffic flow over various IP networks. While interconnecting multiple VoIP networks, the solution supposedly ensures hiding of client and operator network topology and it also supports interworking and transparent translation of SIP and H.323 protocols with further normalization, as well as all types of media codecs.
