TRANSip is REDCOM's (News - Alert) IP telephony technology suite. Sounds simple enough, but there’s more to it than just that.
TRANSip is what company officials describe as an “integrated VoIP product that incorporates the benefits of TDM and IP technologies.” It’s available in the REDCOM High Density Exchange (HDX) and SLICE 2100 platforms, and can provide a SIP Call Controller, Media Gateway (News - Alert), Media Gateway Controller, and what company officials say is “a full range of related IP telephony capabilities and features.”
The product offers a relatively simple integrated VoIP product that is easy to configure and install. It supports traditional TDM transport and signaling interfaces and features, and using REDCOM's TRANSip-enabled HDX or SLICE 2100, you can support, within a single system, IP telephony to IP telephony connections, IP telephony to TDM connections, TDM to IP telephony connections and TDM to TDM connections.
Earlier this month TMC’s (News - Alert) Stefanie Mosca wrote that REDCOM has been providing communication products such as softswitch offerings, gateways and additional advanced IP communication platforms for more than 30 years.
“REDCOM products provide customers with state-of-the-art public and private network systems, integrated TDM and VoIP systems, emergency response systems, programmable systems, and test equipment,” she wrote, adding that REDCOM “has rolled out new advances to its TRANSip IP Technology suite.”
TRANSip, which is integrated into almost all of REDCOM’s communication and softswitch products, enhances interoperability and functionality of its products. The company has been granted a United States Patent No. 7,920,831 titled Push-To-Talk and Push-To-Signal Signaling in an Internet Protocol Network.
TRANSip’s new Push-To-Talk and Push-To-Signal is used in many applications including government, military, and emergency response to mute a telephone handset’s transmitter and to signal connected equipment such as radios that their transmitters are to be keyed, according to the company. REDCOM’s enhanced Push-To-Talk and Push-To-Signal over Internet Protocol Network eliminates latency problems in VoIP telephone systems providing advanced interoperability.
