Webtrends Announces First Facebook Post Scoring System

Webtrends, a leading name in unified mobile, social and web analytics and engagement, recently announced Webtrends Hoverstats. This is a unique tool for Facebook (News - Alert) marketers that will enable a brand to gauge the efficacy of its posts.


Webtrends HoverstatsWebtrends and assigns an individual score to each of the Facebook Page posts. These are based on total reach through fan involvement. This scoring system allows brands to get a good idea of whether its content has the ability to reach out to fans and friends via Facebook. is a complementary analytics tool that will be overlaid on the brand’s Facebook Page. Webtrends was among the few companies that were a part of Facebook's Pages Insights Alpha program conducted recently. They gave important feedback on the new Facebook Page Insights tool. They were also provided alpha access to the new Page Insights API data.

Webtrends Hoverstats requires a Google (News - Alert) Chrome browser plug-in to be installed which can be done by any administrator of a Facebook page. The rankings go from one to 100 and every one of the posts is scored based on primary indicators such as likes, shares, comments and reach.

In a release, Patrick Flanagan, Vice President, Digital Strategy, Simon Property Group, said,

With over 500 field employees interacting with our shoppers across 200 localized Facebook Pages, we're always looking for new methodology to improve our already robust digital offerings. Webtrends Hoverstats and its proprietary PSI metric give us better insight into what content most effectively engages our shoppers just in time for the holiday season."

Soon Webtrends Hoverstats will be available for Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. One will also be able to use it individually or along with Webtrends Social suite. This will also include free entry-level offerings that are available now.
