Trumpia, a provider of multi-channel marketing and messaging solutions that integrate SMS text marketing, email, voice broadcast, IM and social media in a single platform, has revealed that The Teen Project has implemented Trumpia mobile text communications platform to connect homeless and abused teens with 17,000 shelters across America.
The SMS text marketing platform, in conjunction with The Teen Project’s System, TEXT Shelter Service, automatically identifies shelter, sober homes and services for those in need of assistance.
“Most kids who are living on the street do not know where to turn to find the help they need – but they still have a cell phone,” said Lauri Burns, founder of The Teen Project in a statement. “For them, a simple SMS text can mean the difference between life on the street and finding a temporary, but supportive home. Trumpia allows us to provide this critical service, which helps homeless, abused and drug dependent teens take the first step in setting a new course for their lives.”
Teens can text-in the keyword SHELTER along with their zip code to The Teen Project’s Trumpia short code 99000 if they are homeless; or they can text SOBER or ABUSED if they are living under abusive conditions. They are then immediately sent the address of a local shelter within a 30 mile radius.
The organization selected Trumpia’s SMS text marketing solution because it offered the most affordable solution and best fit the needs of The Teen Project, according to Burns.
“We are thrilled to help The Teen Project impact the lives of countless young people,” Ken Rhie, co-founder and CEO of Trumpia added. “The Teen Project is a great example of the power of mobile text – especially when it is integrated with other digital technologies.”
“At Trumpia, we believe that the possibilities are endless and, with that said, we are committed to helping organizations leverage mobile and multi-channel messaging technologies to achieve their goals – no matter how great the scope,” Rhie concluded.
