By Mae Kowalke, Associate Editor

VoIP and videophone service provider 8 x 8, Inc. will be presenting two sessions—about IP phones and WiFi telephony—at the 13th annual INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO next week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

8 x 8’s Director of Consumer Product Marketing, Karen Hong, will co-present a session titled “Developing VoIP Phones,” on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 3:00-2:45 p.m. This session will explore the tools, technologies, and frameworks that exist in today’s market for IP Phone application development and the different approaches and methodologies that software vendors have at their disposal depending on their needs for developing applications for IP Phones.

Karen Hong will also present a session titled “Introduction to WiFi Telephony,” on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 8:30-9:15 a.m. This session will address the growing importance of mobile telephony, and the costs and benefits of wireless communications. Hong will focus on a number of issues related to 802.11 deployment, including network security.
