SIP Provider AireSpring Intros Next Gen Best Practices Guide

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

AireSpring, a Los Angeles-based SIP provider, recently released a “best practices” guide to help customers better understand the changes in how carriers handle incomplete call attempts and short call durations.

The "Best Practices for Voice Network Utilization" guide offers a variety of tips to help companies update their calling policies and boost productivity. For example, the online guide includes tips for “good list hygiene.” It recommends that companies remove disconnected numbers, busy numbers and no answer numbers from phone lists. It also suggested businesses eliminate non-standard numbers, such as toll-free numbers and numbers that start with the prefix 555.

"The telecommunications industry continues to evolve, offering enhanced services, lowered rates and ever improving quality," AireSpring (News - Alert) Chief Operating Officer Daniel Lonstein said in statement. "However, as customer equipment becomes more sophisticated, telecom carriers are adjusting as well to ensure the safety, stability and availability of their networks."

Lonstein said the guide offers nearly two dozen tips from AireSpring’s technical staff on how contact centers can improve their incomplete call completion ratios and ensure acceptable call lengths.

“These tips help our customers enhance their bottom line, as well as keeping network utilization in line with new standards in telecom practice," he said.

"The Best Practices Guide for Voice Network Utilization” is likely the first guide of its kind that addresses what will likely become a widespread change in the way carriers interact with customers, said Todd Regan, AireSpring's senior vice president of marketing. The industry is changing with the increased speed and sophistication of customers' automatic dialers, he said.

“We've taken the challenge of declining call completion ratios and have turned it to the customer's advantage,” Regan said in a statement. “This guide is extremely simple to read and has proven to be highly effective when applied correctly."

The “Best Practices Guide for Voice Network Utilization” is available as a download on AireSpring’s SIP channel on TMCNet.
