Airespring Unveils Cost-Saving, Eco-Friendly AireConference Solution

By Michael Dinan, TMCnet Editor

A Van Nuys, California-based telecommunications provider has launched a toll-free, reservation-free conferencing solution that it says will reduce travel and other expenses for busy companies seeking savings.

Officials at Airespring say their so-called “AireConference” offering was developed because more and more business customers were seeking to reduce their travel budgets and carbon footprints.

The company’s chief operating officer, Daniel Lonstein, said Airsespring customers have grown more and more sensitive to environmental issues, “especially where potential solutions can help their bottom line.”

“We wanted to offer our business users the next generation of voice conferencing services that would have the advanced features and simplicity they wanted at a price that would save them money over their current conferencing costs,” Lonstein said. “We believe that AireConference represents the logical evolution of voice conferencing.”

Specifically, AireConference can help a meeting organizer identify and mute noisy callers through an online Web portal, without muting the entire conference.

Also, the company says, many users wanted a “secure” a conference after all expected participants had joined the call, and to block any new callers.

“With aggressive toll-free calling rates in the United States and local calling numbers throughout the world, AireConference is a uniquely positioned solution for companies seeking robust yet inexpensive conferencing options,” the company says.

Those long-distance rates are largely possible through Airespring’s widely praised SIP trunking technology.

Generally speaking, SIP trunking is a service offered by Internet telephony service providers so that businesses can adopt VoIP using their Internet connection. That way, they can communicate with others who rely on the PSTN, since the enterprise IP-PBX (News - Alert) is connected to the service provider’s PSTN gateways over the Internet.

Airespring’s SIP trunking includes no monthly recurring charge per channel or simultaneous call path for long distance or toll-free service. Most orders for the service are provisioned within two days.

The AireConference services launched this month in the United States and 22 other nations.

“Interested customers can quickly set up an account by contacting AireSpring (News - Alert) customer service at 1-800-825-1055,” company officials say. “Consultants and resellers interested in offering AireConference and other AireSpring telecommunication products will find more information at AireSpring’s partner program Web page.”
