Excel and Allworx Team on VoIP Phone System for SMBs

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Senior Editor

SIP trunking solutions provider Excel Telecommunications and Allworx (News - Alert), a provider of business VoIP services for small companies, announced Monday an alliance to provide resellers with an all-inclusive VoIP solution designed to meet the needs of small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The new solution was designed to offer an extensive feature set, significant cost savings and outstanding customer service for SMBs. It combines Excel’s native VoIP network (which the company said covers every tandem office in the U.S.) with Allworx’s family of IP PBXs.

James Cashiola, CEO at Excel, said the combined solution provides a full-featured phone system that enhances both the operation and bottom line of SMBs—backed by a 90 day ‘service promise.’

“We’re excited to partner with Allworx because their systems provide the right mix of features for the SMB marketplace, and they’re easy to use and maintain - which results in successful, and long-lasting engagements with our customers,” Cashiola said in a statement.

Excel’s network services are used by almost 1.4 million business and residential customers daily. The company’s SIP trunking solution is a complete set of next-generation services (including voice and data) that are delivered on a single network and consolidated onto a single bill.

Allworx’s 6x, 10x and 24x IP PBXs are ideal for businesses with between 2 and 100 employees per site. The company designed these IP PBXs to incorporate the benefits of VoIP with the reliability and feature set of traditional phone systems. They also feature straight-forward installation and administration capabilities, making them very popular among Allworx’s thousands of SMB customers.

Together, Excel’s SIP trunking and Allworx’s IP PBXs provide SMBs with the ability to maximize their data and voice services and also obtain savings by eliminating upfront and maintenance costs associated with traditional phone systems. SMBs using this solution bundle typically save up to 50 percent on their monthly phone bills, with the added benefit of simplifying the management of multiple suppliers.

“We’ve completed extensive interoperability testing, and we’re thrilled to work with Excel to simplify the process for our channel partners that are serving the
communications needs of the SMB marketplace,” said George Daddis, CEO at Allworx, in a statement. “Our award winning hardware and Excel’s services provide customers with a seamless transition from traditional telephone service to VoIP, and we’re doing everything we can to make it easier for our channel partners to bring this solution to the SMB marketplace.”
