Zultys Introduces TAPI for its MX30 and MX250 Enterprise Media Exchanges

By Patrick Barnard, TMCnet Assignment Editor

Zultys Technologies (News - Alert) today introduced a Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) for its SIP-based MX30 and MX250 Enterprise Media Exchanges – devices which combine the functions of an IP PBX, Internet gateway, network server and application server in a single, compact housing. The announcement was made during TMC’s (News - Alert) 4th Annual Communications Developer Conference, now underway in Santa Clara, Calif.

The TAPI will enable systems integrators and other developers to customize Zultys’ SIP-based software to meet a customer’s specific needs. Specifically, it will facilitate tighter integration of Zultys’ IP-PBX (News - Alert) solutions with business processes.

These tailored applications will be able to deliver both voice and data to a variety of end devices, plus they will be able to support complex connection types and call management techniques, such as call conferencing, call waiting and voice mail.

In addition the TAPI will allow all elements of telephone usage, from simple dial-and-speak calls to screen pops and database lookups based on caller information, to be controlled within applications developed for Microsoft (News - Alert) application programming interfaces.

Vladimir Movshovich, VP of technology at Zultys, said in a press release that the company’s partners are “excited about their capability to create applications that utilize the TAPI interface for real-time applications.”

“Now intelligent call routing decisions can be made by external systems based on information such as caller ID,” he said.

Zultys’ offers a family of award-winning SIP-based products and software designed to meet the communications needs enterprises and SMBs, as well as educational, government and military organizations. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., with operations in Europe, Asia and Australia, Zultys leverages the experience of its sister company, Telrad Connegy (News - Alert), an organization with a 50-year heritage as one of the most successful telecommunications companies to emerge out of Israel.
