Customer Sings Praises of Sagemcom's IP Fax Solution
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
The role of the fax machine is just as important today as it was 10 years ago. The main difference between the enterprise then and the enterprise now is the likelihood to be operating on an all-IP platform.
When this happens, the enterprise stands to gain significant value from the network fax. To get a better understanding of the benefits a network fax, such as the XMediusFAX solution offered by Sagemcom, a customer was interviewed live at the Cisco (News - Alert) Live 2010 Las Vegas show.
This customer, David Lam, voice architect with HealthCare Partners, has been on both sides of the faxing phenomenon and understands the value the XMediusFAX solution delivers. His first comment while being interviewed was that the user community within Healthcare Partners consistently reports that they love the XMediusFAX SP and Enterprise.
At present, he is working with departments throughout the organization to determine more ways to better utilize the technology. The company is truly looking forward to cost savings through the disconnecting of traditional phone lines, leveraging what they have in their Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) infrastructure, reaping telco cost savings, reducing spend on paper, fax machine maintenance and a reduction in the man hours spent on managing faxes.
Traditional fax technology has long been a staple within the enterprise and even the small business as it still provides a key communication channel. When much of the business is conducted through faxing, however, it can be a significant drain on corporate resources in terms of supplies, maintenance and the handling of documents.
When the XMediusFAX solution is implemented within the enterprise, users can manage all fax communications right from their desktop. Fax documents can be created on the PC, with all necessary attachments added on the fly and the individual or broadcast fax sent out as needed. Successful transmission is reported back to the desktop and the document can easily be saved for retrieval at a later time if necessary.
The same is true for the receipt of fax communications. Individual users can be assigned their own unique fax number and all communications will come right to the desktop. Archiving and other document management is integrated with current desktop software to streamline the process and reduce human error and manual hours spent on the process. This network fax solution, that uses fax over IP, truly delivers measurable benefits to the customer, as demonstrated in this testimonial. Sagemcom is leading the way for FoIP communications, improving its innovations every step of the way.
