By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet

IP Fax solutions provider Sagem (News - Alert)-Interstar will be participating in the upcoming Cisco IT Innovations Forum, a live, online event to be held May 7.

During the live, interactive conference, attendees will learn how to safely reduce IT costs and determine which new technologies provide the fastest payback for their mandatory IT projects. What’s more, attendees will learn how to maximize the value of their existing network resources and enable their employees to do more with less.

Sessions planned for the event include:

--"Thriving in Turbulent Times," an executive keynote about how leading companies are successfully managing resources and business models today
--"IT Innovation and ROI Success," a series of roundtable discussions on innovations and practices your peers are using to address the new economic realities
--"Reducing Cost and Complexity," a session on which new technologies are providing the fastest documented ROI for Cisco (News - Alert) customers
--"Doing More with Less," a session on getting the most from your existing network resources to improve employee efficiency, output, and collaboration
--"Analyst Recommendations on Best Practices for Reducing IT Cost," where top industry analysts from Nemertes Research and others will reveal the most effective practices for reducing IT budgets, increasing employee efficiency, and supporting new business models and
--"Global Market Perspectives," a session on how the economic downturn is affecting IT deployments in different markets and how customers are coping

Two customers running Sagem-Interstar’s (News - Alert) Cisco AXP–XMediusFAX FoIP solution will be featured in the “Driving IT Innovation and ROI Success” session.

During the session breakouts, attendees can visit Sagem-Interstar’s (News - Alert) virtual tradeshow booth in the Cisco Virtual Conference Show Hall to learn more about how the company’s XMediusFAX FoIP solution benefits various vertical industry sectors.

Visitors to the virtual booth will have the opportunity to chat real-time with Sagem-Interstar representatives via its Cisco AXP–XMediusFAX FoIP solution.

They will also have a chance to learn about the survivability capabilities of Sagem-Interstar’s XMediusFAX 6.0 branch FoIP solution, which is designed for safeguarding enterprises against the high costs and negative impact of fax downtime. Specifically, visitors will learn how FoIP survivability benefits enterprises in disaster recovery and offsite replication scenarios via a live and interactive multimedia environment.

The live global event is free to attend and will be available on demand afterwards.

Sagem-Interstar, a division of Sagem Communications (News - Alert), made news on TMCnet in March when it introduced OpenLine and OpenScribe, two new complimentary "plug and play" server appliances for secure routing, cost-effective faxing, document management and archiving. These new rack-mounted appliances leverage existing IT investments through open compatibility with multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and information systems.

OpenLine is an SME-optimized fax management server designed for total security and audit traceability. It facilitates secure fax communications, routing, and search and retrieval directly from the desktop to boost productivity and save time. This server offers scalability, redundancy, disks using RAID technology, and secure authentication. With it, business can reduce risks because documents are backed-up electronically. What’s more, compatibility with MFPs means users can send, receive, scan, index, and automatically archive incoming and outgoing faxes.

OpenScribe handles secure document management and archiving and is also designed with SMEs in mind. It also tracks the lifecycle of every document, therefore helping companies meet regulatory compliance through audit traceability. It’s automatic inbound document processing and routing increases productivity – plus it can be easily integrated with third-party and office applications.
