Sagem-Interstar's XMediusFAX Featured in Lippis Report Podcasts

By Michelle Robart, TMCnet Editor

The Lippis Report, an online business and IT resource, recently featured Sagem-Interstar (News - Alert) and its XMediusFAX Fax over IP (FoIP) solution in two podcasts.

XMediusFAX is a fast, highly cost effective, secure, and reliable IP fax server solution that has dominated the global Fax over IP (FoIP) market since 2002.

As the worlds’s first and only fax solution to operate inside a Cisco (News - Alert) Integrated Services Router (ISR), the Cisco AXP–XMediusFAX Fax over IP (FoIP) solution is a vital and cost-effective part of a complete Unified Communications (UC) strategy.

On August 11, 2008, “Optimizing Branch Office Operations with Cisco’s AXP” introduced the new Cisco Application eXtension Platform (AXP) and how it optimizes enterprise branch communications by leveraging the millions of Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs) being deployed in the market.

In the podcast, Nick Lippis and networking industry experts discuss the latest technology trends and innovations. Highlighting the AXP as a “green” development platform for creating business value, optimizing branch office networks, and reducing TCO, the podcast features interviews with both Cisco and Sagem-Interstar. Additionally, it explains how fax functions can be virtualized into the Cisco ISR through the joint Cisco AXP– XMediusFAX Fax over IP (FoIP) solution.

Integrated within the Cisco Application eXtension Platform (AXP), the Cisco AXP– XMediusFAX solution is particularly beneficial for branch office environments.

In a separate podcast, “H.I.G. puts Cisco’s AXP to Work and Creates Business Value in the Process,” held on August 18, 2008, The Lippis Report focuses on how H.I.G. Capital leverages the Cisco AXP–XMediusFAX solution to integrate fax services into its Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) infrastructure.

The Director of IT at H.I.G. Capital, Luis Suarez discusses with Lippis how H.I.G created value and optimized its remote office operations through a new Cisco business platform, which tightly links applications and networks. Luis explains how HIG used AXP along with Sagem-Interstar’s XMediusFAX application to displace both an old world analog fax network along with Web-based fax services, while integrating fax services into UC extending it to all H.I.G endpoints and in the process speeding up business process and deal flow.

The two podcasts are included in a Lippis Report White Paper (News - Alert), “Increasing Corporate Value through Integrated Networks and Applications – a New Approach to IT Service Delivery Emerges for Branch Office Operations,” which was published today.  It can be downloaded from: http://lippisreport.com/category/topic/unified-communications/.

In other Sagem-Interstar news, Cisco also recently produced a video about the Cisco AXP–XMediusFAX FoIP solution, and how H.I.G. Capital is reaping its benefits. The video can be played from: www.sagem-interstar.com.
