j2 Global (News - Alert), Inc. (JCOM), a global provider of Internet services, has recently expanded its services by acquiring the Internet fax business of two Australian service providers, Sydney-based OzeFax and Brisbane-based FaxMate.

FaxMate provides business grade virtual fax services in Australia, offering fax to email, fax broadcasting and email to fax services. OzeFax, meanwhile, offers secure email faxing service for a monthly fee.

These acquisitions looks to benefit JCOM’s business cloud services division, which offers Internet fax, virtual phone, hosted email, email marketing, online backup, unified communications and CRM solutions. Industry experts believe the company will now be better positioned to expand its services across Australia, especially in the unified communications sector.

JCOM’s current IP faxing service, eFax, uses the convenience of email and the speed of the Internet to make it easier for people to send and receive faxes. eFax has grown to become one of the world's largest providers of Internet messaging services, offering fax by email to more than 11 million subscribers. The purchase of the Internet fax business of these two Australian service providers is certain to give its business a boost.

This is third acquisition j2 Global has announced in recent months. The company just recently announced that it had acquired LiveDrive, a UK-based provider of online backup with added file sync features for professionals and individuals. The acquisition expands the company’s global online backup business and customer base, and establishes a j2 Global UK office in LiveDrive's Paddington, UK location.

Also, this month TMCnet reported that the company had acquired City Numbers, a global provider of inbound local, national and international toll free phone numbers in over 80 countries.
