OceanX, a provider of fax server solutions, recently announced that its OceanFax Fax Server solution is now compliant with key collaboration solutions from Avaya (News - Alert), a provider of business communications and collaboration solutions.

OceanFax FoIP supports real time fax transmission, and is deployed and administered in virtual machine (VM) environment using VMware, Hyper-V and Virtual PC, instead of a physical server. OceanFax FoIP is designed to manage large fax volumes and deliver high levels of scalability, security, reliability and availability.

According to OceanFax, virtual FoIP can boost productivity by 90% over traditional manual faxing, since users no longer need to make time-consuming trips to the fax machine. The solution can reduce telecom costs by 40% or more over traditional faxing.

OceanFax is designed to protect document privacy and facilitate compliance with government regulations, such as HIPAA and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. It also routes sensitive documents in TIFF or PDF format to approved recipients and designated secure printers via secure IP networks and encrypted VPNs. OceanFax can integrate with email (Exchange, Lotus Notes and SMTP mail), ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), IBM (News - Alert) Mainframe, CRM, AS/400, MFP and other back-end systems or devices to streamline the business process and achieve total office automation.
