Spacenet to Demo Full Suite of Communication Network Solutions for Retailers

Spacenet has said that it plans to demonstrate its full suite of communication network solutions for retailers at a trade event in New York, scheduled to be held January 14-15, 2013.
For this year’s event, the company is calling its exhibit theme “Big Bandwidth Store.” It signifies the one-stop bandwidth shopping that the company’s comprehensive line of managed network services brings to its retailers, said company officials.
Some of the prominent retailers of the country rely on Spacenet for the management and communications optimization of their networks. These retailers have stores all across the country and they use a wide range of technologies such as broadband, wired and wireless.
With the help of the company, these retailers are able to enhance point of sale (POS) by deploying the tools and technology that are needed, according to company officials. In addition, the company makes it possible to accelerate customer check-out and enable real-time inventory control, self-checkout initiatives, video surveillance and more.
At the event, the company’s executives are expected to discuss the need of retailers for better, reliable, fast and broad connectivity. Company officials said that these retailers have their stores located all across the country and they are seeking broadband, wireless, and wired solutions that are not only reliable and secure but also help them achieve total cost of network ownership.
The company intends to showcase four solution pods. Company officials said these three four pods will underline Spacenet solutions sets for some of the challenges that retailers face, today.
These four solution pods are access strategy; Wi-Fi communications; unified communications (UC); and integrated IP physical security. Company officials said that for a retailer’s overall network, the company uses a technology-neutral -- Cable, EoC, Fiber, DSL, 4G and VSAT – approach to provide complete coverage and low total cost of ownership.
Retailers are looking for consistency in management, maintenance and security throughout each store and across the enterprise. Company officials said that the company offers centralized, full-scale program management of in-store Wi-Fi deployment and operations.
With Spacenet, retailers can optimize business processes and communications. Company officials said that the company makes it possible to integrate real-time -- instant messaging, presence information, telephony, video conferencing -- and non-real-time -- voicemail, email, SMS, fax -- technologies across all devices and media. Through quality of service (QoS), the company leverages its MPLS network, delivering an enhanced user experience.
Additionally in combination with Vector Security, Spacenet offers an integrated, single-source solution for managed network services and interactive security products and services. These include integrated video, BA/FA, access, EAS, robbery and more.
