By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer
IP fax company Sagemcom today unveiled its new mobile generation LTE (News - Alert) Home Gateway. This next generation product enables not only data connectivity, but also voice and TV delivery through a mobile broadband LTE network.
Called the F@st 3965 Air, this high added value home gateway offers all residential broadband services from a single device, connecting to all applicable home network devices by way of a variety of interfaces — including dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi, USB ports and gigabit Ethernet. Meanwhile, on the software side, the F@st 3965 Air can be managed remotely via TR069 or locally via a Web interface.
This device’s cloud functionality, along with DLNA support, allows the F@st 3695 Air to operate as a central multimedia server for the home.
“The speed and coverage performance of LTE allows operators to offer residential services comparable to those offered on fixed lines. Sagemcom solutions provide the best of these two worlds,” said Ahmed Selmani, deputy CEO of Sagemcom Broadband, in a statement.
The F@st 3695 Air is capable of speeds upwards of 100Mbps in LTE, or 42Mbps with 3G connectivity. There are two variants of this device in order to cover all frequency bands provided by operators worldwide, while meeting their individual needs.
In August 2012, Sagemcom managed to secure a position as an International Avaya (News - Alert) Users Group 3-Star Partner, making the company well positioned to meet the needs of the Avaya community by way of its cutting edge IP fax software technology that is capable of integrating seamlessly with Avaya. In other words, Sagemcom’s XMediusFAX solution has received full certification with all major platforms.
In all, Sagemcom’s list of partners in terms of interoperability is huge, including major players such as Microsoft (News - Alert), which it is a Gold Certified partner with, and core UC partners including Cisco, ALU and, of course, Avaya.
