GL Unveils its MC-MLPPP Analysis and Emulation Software
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
The release can also emulate and analyze point-to-point (PPP), multi-link point-to-point (MLPPP), and multi-class MLPPP protocols.
“ ML-PPP has wide applications for access lines to Internet service providers (ISPs) and enterprises that need "single pipes" greater than one T1 but less than 28 T1s. ML-PPP is similar to IMA (Inverse Multiplexing over ATM), in the sense that larger bandwidth is derived by aggregating smaller physical channels,” said Jagadish Vadalia, senior manager of Product Development, in a statement.
The MLPPP analyzer supports reassembly and decoding of multiple MLPPP bundles simultaneously. It can capture and decode PPP routed protocols and PPP bridged protocols with ease.
In addition, this analyzer can test and perform several measurements across WAN- LAN or LAN-LAN connection and support various data transmission rates starting from fractional DS0 to DS1 (subchannels).
“GL's flexible and versatile applications in T1 E1 Analyzer allow complete PPP, MLPPP, & MC-MLPPP Analysis & Emulation. The T1 E1 Analyzers are available as powerful HD PCI (News - Alert) cards as well as portable USB based units,” added Vadalia.
GL Communications’ MC-MLPPP Emulator has been designed to support up to eight T1/E1 Full or Fractional Links. The product features LCP with PPP, MLPPP, and Multi-class negotiation options as well as control protocol negotiation using IPCP.
The company supplies test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, wireless, IP and VoIP networks. It was in the news earlier this year when it released its ISDN Protocol Analysis and Emulation software.
