GL Communications (News - Alert) has announced the availability of its T1 E1 Application Development Toolkit for Windows and Linux operating systems.
GL Communications provides PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry. The company’s Application Development Toolkit provides an application programming interface (API) for custom T1 E1 software development.
The API supports Microsoft (News - Alert) VS2005 C/C++ Compiler, and provides device drivers for GL Communication's Universal and tProbe T1 E1 analyzers, as well as high-level functions for simplifying applications development in Windows XP and later Windows operating systems.
The company has also included a C interface in the API that allows applications to be built in C when C++ is not available.
“The Application Development Toolkit provides application programming interface (API) for custom T1 E1 software development. GL now provides API for Windows and Linux Operating Systems,” said Vijay Kulkarni, CEO for the company. “The Windows toolkit consists of c and c++ header files, a 32 bit dynamic link library (DLL) implementing API, programmer's guide and reference manual and examples of custom applications.”
The Linux toolkit, according to Kulkarni, consists of C and C++ header files, a 32-bit shared library for implementing API and examples of custom applications. The API provides a device driver interface for GL Communication's Universal T1 E1 analyzers and high-level functions, which simplifies applications development in Open Source (News - Alert) Linux 11.2 with kernel release of 2.6.31.
GL Communications is a supplier of test, monitoring and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, IP and VoIP networks. Its test platforms provide visualization, capture, storage and convenient features like portability, remotability and scripting.
The company was in the news last month for announcing the release of its enhanced T1 E1 Analyzer software and hardware, version 6.22.
