The new release: can simulate ISDN signaling over IP (ISDN-SIGTRAN); can generate and process all ISDN messages; and features switch and subscriber emulation and user controlled access to optional ISDN parameters such as timers.
GL Communications provides PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry.
“GL’s MAPS SIGTRAN ISDN over IP is an advanced protocol simulator/tester used for ISDN simulation over IP. The tester can simulate a complete ISDN connection SG to MGC, where ISDN signaling is defined by the ITU-T Q.921 / Q.931 standards,” said Jagdish Vadalia senior manager of the company. “It is a powerful tool that can be used to perform detailed testing of ISDN protocol messages over IP, and offers a complete solution for testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of devices and networks implementing PRI ISDN.”
Other features of MAPS SIGTRAN ISDN Protocol Emulator include having the ability to provide various release cause codes such as: rejected, no user response, user busy, congested, and so on, in order to troubleshoot the problems in ISDN
The solution also supports customization of call flows and message templates using script editor and message editor, features ready-to-use scripts for quick testing, and supports scripted call generation and automated call reception.
GL Communications was in news this summer when it began to sell its PacketGen-SIP bulk call generator software. PacketGen can test and analyze VoIP network equipment, as well as support some 1,000 calls at the same time, the company said.
