How to Save Money with Cloud and IP Fax
By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Managing Editor
Communications technology is constantly evolving, and, like the evolution of mail from the Pony Express to overnight delivery to e-mail, other methods of communications have changed over time as well. Take fax, for example. It has come a long way from the clunky fax machines many of us remember from the 1980s. Nowadays, there are a host of cutting edge options such as cloud and IP fax solutions that can save companies a lot of money.
One company with a new, cost-saving IP fax solution is International Presence, which has come out with the new CloudFax400. This enterprise fax solution is designed for companies that wish to send and receive fax transmissions from IBM (News - Alert) mid-range systems or Windows networks.
This cloud-hosted solution sports features that companies are used to seeing in on-premise servers, such as desktop faxing, workflow integration, automatic document routing, barcode scanning, application integration and reporting and analytics. Because it does not require hardware or fixed telephone lines, the CloudFAX400 solution will cut maintenance costs, free up in-house IT departments and decrease the amount of server room space dedicated to fax solutions.
The CloudFAX400 solution will give companies increased reliability and efficiency, and the secure, compliant service will meet requirements of HIPAA, SOX, PCI (News - Alert), SAS-70, GLB, NIST and more. Users can send faxes by the page and only pay for what they use, which will also result in cost savings.
Another company that offers IP fax solutions is Sagemcom, which is coming out with new features in Release 7 of its XMediusFAX solution. It will include a host of improvements over the previous version, including enhanced Microsoft platform support, searchable PDFs and barcode routing.
