IP Fax: InterFAX Integrates Google Docs

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

InterFAX, a provider of IP Fax services, recently announced the integration of its Internet fax platform with Google (News - Alert) Docs.

The development is marked as the industry-first fax integration with Google Docs. It will bridge the gap between the virtual office and the physical office, according to company officials, and will enable users to enjoy the flexibility offered by Google's cloud services.

Through this integration, InterFAX is looking to break the barrier between a completely virtualized work environment and the hard-copy reality of faxing. The service is expected to bring revolutionary changes in industries that depend on faxes for critical communications and to transmit important documents.

For example, restaurant websites and portals depend on fax to transmit orders for delivery; hospitals and healthcare providers rely on faxes to communicate; and the banking and insurance industries require faxed copies of critical documents. Internet faxing streamlines the process allowing documents to be faxed quickly from users' computers.InterFAX's new feature integrates its fax services with Google's online productivity suite, enabling businesses to explore the immense benefits offered by Google's services. This new feature is provided at no extra cost to InterFAX customers. The service is easy to set up and use, according to company officials.

Recently, a report from Research and Markets said the IP Fax Server Market would grow rapidly during the five-year forecast period, from $130 million in 2009 to $415 million in 2014, at a 26.1 percent compound annual growth rate.

Companies are switching from conventional fax servers to IP Fax servers thanks to their cost efficiency. The market growth will also be driven by the virtualization of fax servers, the desire of companies to centralize their fax operations, to enhance their VoIP initiatives with IP Fax, and to endow their multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and fax machines with audit trails to satisfy compliance regulations, according to the research report.
