Sagemcom's XMediusFAX IP Fax Software Interoperable with Cisco Solutions
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
The demand for fax communications continues to thrive in a number of different markets, including manufacturing, construction and healthcare, to name just a few. The challenge for companies operating in this space is the increased move to an all-IP environment, as analog faxing technology is creating communication bottlenecks and limiting productivity.
To change the dynamics in the fax channel, companies like Sagemcom are offering IP fax technology, enabling organizations to streamline their faxing so that everything can be sent and received over the network. This not only streamlines the fax communication process, it also eliminates much of the wasted time and resources that tend to accompany traditional faxing methods.
In keeping with the IP fax demand, Sagemcom has announced that its XMediusFAX Fax over IP (FoIP) software (releases 6.5 and up) has successfully completed interoperability testing with Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) 8.5 and Cisco’s Unity Connection 8.5 voice messaging and UM solution. This IP fax announcement was originally made at the Enterprise Connect (News - Alert) show in Orlando.
The Cisco Developer Network was established to unite Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software, in an effort to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. Sagemcom, as a Registered Developer, now offers a complementary product offering and is collaborating with Cisco in an effort to meet the needs of joint customers.
Customers can leverage offerings such as the XMediusFAX FoIP fax server survivability solutions to quickly deploy a full range of Cisco Compatible business applications, devices or services. In doing so, customer companies can easily enhance the performance, capabilities and management of their Cisco network.
Sagemcom, an IP fax provider, specializes in broadband communications, telecoms and energy, and document management sectors. The company’s proven XMediusFAX leverages IP telephony and Unified Communications (News - Alert) systems to deliver an environment of increased productivity, collaboration and a rapid ROI.
In other Sagemcom news, the company recently announced that it is harnessing the cost-saving benefits of SIP trunking, by revealing the latest XMediusFAX T.38 FoIP server software. With FoIP, users can easily receive faxes directly to their e-mail accounts, access faxes from anywhere they have a network or web browser connection, read faxes from within the privacy of an e-mail account and archive e-mailed faxes electronically. The result is an easier filing and documentation system. Now with Cisco interoperability, the company’s solutions deliver even more value to the enterprise.
