Sagemcom Launches Two Ricoh Connectors to Extend IP Fax Interoperability
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
IP fax provider Sagemcom has launched two new Ricoh (News - Alert) Connectors to enable organizations to connect their Ricoh Multifunction Printers (MFPs) to the Sagemcom XMediusFAX Favor over IP (FoIP) server technology or OpenLine PR Server fax and document management solution.
This launch is expected to enable companies to leverage best-in-class fax-oriented functions directly from the Ricoh MFP user interface. The Sagemcom connectors are designed to embellish the standard capabilities of the Ricoh MFPs to extend feature-rich IP fax and document management capabilities throughout the organization.
Sagecom launched these two new connectors as part of its strategy to simplify and enhance fax and document management processes. The company plans to demonstrate its IP fax capabilities at an upcoming industry event.
Jean Champagne (News - Alert), general manager, Sagemcom Canada, Inc., said in a statement, “Organizations in virtually every industry are increasingly deploying MFPs to consolidate the diverse peripherals deployed in traditional printing, copying, scanning, and faxing. Our new Sagemcom-developed connectors embellish Ricoh MFPs with feature-rich IP fax and document management functionalities common to both XMediusFAX and OpenLine, saving organizations thousands of dollars every year.”
Sagemcom developed the Ricoh Connectors to help companies to boost productivity, improve security and compliance through direct delivering to authenticated recipient e-mail inboxes, and to lower the total cost of ownership within an IP-based infrastructure. IP fax is providing a whole new platform for document distribution and management and this latest release will help to strengthen Sagemcom’s reach in the market.
To ensure easy adoption of the new Ricoh Connectors, interoperability is assured directly and seamlessly with Sagemcom’s XMediusFAX FoIP software or the OpenLine PR Server appliances through specific Ricoh platforms, managed through a familiar MFP user touchscreen panel, including Globalscan NX version 1.3.5 or higher, and Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) technologies 4.1 or higher with a resolution of WVGA, HVGA or XVGA.
As fax communications continue to be a vital communication point for businesses throughout the global marketplace, Sagemcom is offering key technology platforms to enable these organizations to incorporate fax technology in an all-IP environment. By introducing IP fax technology that integrates easily within current environments, Sagemcom is firmly solidifying its role as a key provider of business-critical technology to drive effective communications.
With this latest launch of the Ricoh Connectors, Sagecom is delivering key interoperability points that enable Ricoh customers to extend the value of their MFP investments, while also leveraging the power of their all-IP environments.
