VinciSoft Class 4 Softswitch Integrates Call Routing Services and Session Border Controller Functionality

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

NACT (News - Alert) Solutions, LLC (NACT) has unveiled VinciSoft Class 4 Softswitch, which is a comprehensive VoIP and TDM switching solution that enables service providers to integrate an array of IP telephony services.

Officials with NACT said that VinciSoft integrates call routing services, Session Border Controller (SBC) functionality, transcoding, billing, client management and reporting capabilities in a manner that helps service providers optimize their route plans and achieve their revenue goals.

According to company officials said that the VinciSoft Carrier Solution facilitates direct peering with other service providers, using SIP or H.323, and connection to the PSTN, in a single platform.

It can be deployed in a VoIP-only mode, reducing costs, and eliminating the need for proprietary hardware. It can also be equipped with TDM cards to provide up to 32 E1’s in a single box, and multiple Vinci Gateways can be combined in a single system.

Company officials said that each VinciSoft server can process calls at a high CPS rate and depending on how the system is used, can process in excess of 150 calls per second.

VinciSoft’s session border controller addresses the security and technical issues of IP-to-IP connectivity that are common amongst IP networks.

NACT’s Class 4 softswitch includes prepaid telecom applications with automated customer notifications.

The system, company officials said, can automatically shut down customer traffic at pre-determined dollar amounts, as determined by the service provider.

VinciSoft is fully integrated with NACT’s recently announced BAT-1000 billing system, to perform carrier billing, carrier reconciliation, Profit & Loss reporting, and traffic reports. Copies of all CDRs are sent directly to the BAT-1000 billing system, where they are rated in real time and decremented against customer balances.

“Today, technology plays a critical role in helping carriers balance escalating capacity demands against declining service revenues,” said Arnie Goodstein, president of NACT Solutions, in a statement.

Goodstein said that VinciSoft provides the tandem, carrier interconnection, international gateway, and routing functionality that carriers need to optimize their route plans, and achieve their own revenue goals.

NACT is a provider of prepaid application solutions, having sold and installed more than 650 switching platforms - in 26 countries - that control more than 12 billion minutes of traffic annually.
