Epygi Announces Version 4.1 Software for Quadro PBXs
By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Senior Editor
Epygi (News - Alert) Technologies, a company that manufactures IP PBXs designed to simplify the process of selecting VoIP solutions, this week officially announced an updated version of the software used to operate its Quadro PBX.
Version 4.1 of the software enables application developers to better utilize the features and switching capabilities found in Quadro’s central call management engine. This is made possible by Epygi’s Third Party Call Control API. The result is enablement of an almost unlimited variety of voice and video functions.
The new software also incorporate a number of enhancements for users and system administrators. These improvements are summarized below.
Simplification of voicemail setup – a streamlined series of voice prompts expedites installation; cell phone users can set up alerts for office calls in place of e-mail notification or call forwarding.
Ring tones for Snom and Aastra VoIP phone users – users of these phones can assign a variety of ring sounds to identify callers; local extension directories and one-touch dialing is also available.
Improved management features – several new features have been added to simplify management, including: automatic backup and download of user configurations; automatic updates of firmware; pre-programmed compensation for daylight savings time.
Plug-and-play installation – Aastra and Snom IP phones plugged into a Quadro system automatically acquire an extension number and perform auto-configuration with no user intervention.
The new software is now shipping with all Quadro orders. Existing users can download Versoin 4.1 from Epygi’s Web site (at the technical support center).
