SD-WAN is a front door to digital transformation, clearing the path for future-forward network architecture. With the new network edge in your home office, providing employees with secure, reliable access to network resources is both challenging and critical.

CITIC Telecom announced a new partnership with Zscaler to add TrueCONNECT SASE Service to its arsenal of offerings, with the integration of the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform central to delivering security at the evolving edge.

“The rise in SD-WAN deployment sees an escalation of network edge attacks. Our partnership with leading zero trust and web security solution provider Zscaler to offer TrueCONNECT(TM) SASE Service expands our existing TrueCONNECT(TM) Hybrid SD-WAN value proposition,” said Taylor Lam, Chief Strategy Officer of CITIC Telecom CPC (News - Alert). “The main benefactors of this partnership will be our customers who can now protect their network edges and scale the security as their network edges evolve.”

SD-WAN rose to prominence for delivering optimized network operations, but solely lacked the level of security required to support the remote workforce. By placing network security in the cloud, SASE is able to offer protection at the edge. With a zero trust approach in place, identity-based access is a solid foundation.

The cloud-native SASE service is a sign of the times, as the convergence of network and security functions is a natural evolution for the modern enterprise and Gartner (News - Alert) notes more than 60% of enterprises turning to SASE.

As the workforce remains at home for the near future, SASE may prove an unsung hero.
