Hughes (News - Alert) unveiled the HR4860 Secure SD-WAN Gateway, the newest addition to the SD-WAN provider’s portfolio providing the performance, security and broadband optimization required to support edge operations of the modern enterprise. The hardware device builds on the success of its predecessor, the HR4700, supporting wireless, wired and satellite services.

The HR4860 delivers the edge Fortinet (News - Alert)-powered security, and in leveraging an edge-based approach, organizations execute network and security policy from the remote-site. The SD-WAN gateway puts ActiveTechnologies to work to ensure QoS via automation, and automatic path selection promising application performance.
