In a bid to reach out to other software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) solution providers and create an ecosystem in support of the technology, Talari Networks (News - Alert) recently unveiled its Talari Unite Technology Alliance program. The new program is designed to bring together the company’s partners and facilitate new solutions and capabilities for Talari and partner customers.

Partners can take advantage of Talari’s SD-WAN solution through the program, which is designed to offer a high-quality user experience by intelligently detecting and responding to network and application impairments. Partners may also work with the company to offer end-to-end solutions geared toward solving enterprise IT challenges. Areas of specialization will include security, virtualization, WAN optimization, cloud, business applications, wireless networking and storage. Partners will also be able to access a variety of free resources to promote innovation, including free virtual appliance and software licenses along with online lab resources.

Talari plays in the same space as companies like CloudGenix, VeloCloud and Viptela, which have similar philosophies about partnering and extending their business networks in order to compete with the likes of bigwigs like Cisco (News - Alert) in the SD-WAN space. The CloudGenix ION is a SD-WAN that builds a centralized control plane and uses policy-based language and intelligence to replace networking hardware solutions. The company partners with VMware, as does Talari, in a bid to reach a broader market and drive innovation.

"Outside of the United States, carriers and managed service providers are a primary route to the enterprise market, and Talari needs to gain traction there," said Andrew Lerner, an analyst at Gartner (News - Alert), regarding Talari’s new program as well as similar efforts from other SD-WAN solution providers.

Talari is offering silver, gold and platinum memberships for the new program. Silver membership enables partners to download Talari technology for testing instead of commercial use, while gold membership includes access to Talari’s labs and discounts on non-virtualized appliances. Platinum membership includes additional incentives for companies with global customer bases.
