Saveology Picks Heroku to Run Daily Deals 2.0 Website

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Saveology has selected Heroku, a cloud platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider, to run its newly launched Daily Deals 2.0 website.

The company said that it selected Heroku's proven platform for its feature rich product and unlimited scalability. “Heroku is a perfect fit for our priorities,” said Barry Newman, senior vice president of IT at Saveology.

The company set out to develop and deploy the new daily deals website in less than 60 days, Newman said, adding that the company was committed to delivering a rich customer experience, an intuitive merchant portal, as well as a social and mobile interface -- all integrated into our CRM.

“And the result was that within hours of launch we saw thousands of new customers purchase Saveology deals. That simply wouldn't have been possible without Heroku,” Newman said.

Saveology is already a salesforce.com customer and selecting Heroku enables it to achieve additional economies of scale and see “tremendous” benefits and possibilities by leveraging the integration between Database.com and Heroku.

Automatically, key data captured on the website around offers, customers, and orders is synchronized back to Database.com. Company officials said that this powers Saveology's internal customer support and operations.

With Salesforce Service Cloud application, Saveology manages all merchant and consumer service for their daily deals, using key data from the Heroku-powered site to provide a top-notch service.

“By combining ease of use, instant scalability, and eliminating high start-up costs ahead of launching, we continue to see more and more next generation social enterprise technologies use Heroku,” said Mike Pyle, vice president of sales and business development at Heroku.

“With Heroku's seamless integration with salesforce.com's products, we are helping to power social enterprises.”

Earlier this year, Salesforce.com (News - Alert) acquired Heroku for approximately $212 million in cash.
