Dalcom's Voipbar.com vHome Global Unlimited Offers Many Calling Destinations
By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Associate Editor
Consumers looking for an affordable, flat-rate phone service have many choices. One of the most popular ones, which helped herald in the era of $25/per month “unlimited” VoIP
plans, is Vonage (News - Alert). But, of course, Vonage now has many competitors, and depending on customers’ needs, some of the competitors may offer better value.
One example is VoipBar.com, a DalCom Telecom brand. This VoIP offering is available in several packages, including vHome Global. TMCnet recently spoke with Fred Hakim, CEO of Dalcom Telecom (News - Alert) Group, who explained how the vHome Global plan from Voipbar.com improves upon Vonage’s service.
The primary differentiator, Hakim said, has to do with roster of international destinations included with the plan. Vonage’s service is promoted as offering unlimited long distance to anywhere in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Dalcom Telecom, however, realized that there are other parts of the world people need or want to call to, and with the launch of Voipbar.com included the vHome Global offering to serve those customers.
Voipbar.com also offers two plans that are more comparable in their international reach with Vonage’s offering, but cost less. vHome Lite provides 200 calling minutes for $9.95 per month, for calls to any location in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. vHome National Unlimited provides unlimited minutes for calls to any location in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico for a flat monthly rate of $19.95.
vHome Global offers cheapest international rates around for many locations worldwide (see http://www.voipbar.com/rates/ for the full list), including: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, U.S. Virgin Island, USA, Vatican City and Venezuela.
These locations are included free in the $29.95 per month vHome Global Unlimited plan.
“Our solution that is for people who need more international calling destinations,” Hakim told TMCnet.
vHome Global also includes a variety of value-added features, including: voicemail, voicemail e-mail notification, 3-way calling, call forwarding, call return, caller ID, speed dial, real-time online call detail reports, and ability to keep your existing phone number. Subscribers must have a broadband Internet connection and a credit card.
