The 2012 RCS VoLTE interoperability test (IOT) event provided a great platform for Radisys Corporation and GENBAND (News - Alert) to demonstrate their expertise in supporting Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communications Suite (RCS) services in a multivendor LTE IMS network.
This is extremely significant given the fact that user expectations require application solutions that provide a unique and intuitive subscriber experience across any device, network or application.
Adnan Saleem, chief architect at Radisys, observed that the company's flexible MRF demonstrated its interoperability and advanced handling capabilities while handling media processing requests from GENBAND's RCS application server.
Radisys' MRF not only responded to media processing requests from IMS call control equipment by multiple vendors but also delivered real-time protocol media processing requirements for RCS and VoLTE under the control of GENBAND's A2 communications application server.
Both Radisys' MRF solution and GENBAND's RCS application server support a number of RCS use cases that include both audio and video scenarios.
“This interoperability test event provided a great opportunity for GENBAND and Radisys to showcase to mobile operators that they can deploy RCS VoLTE capabilities today on their LTE (News - Alert) networks,” said BG Kumar, executive vice president, multimedia business unit for GENBAND.
