D2 Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of embedded IP communications software platforms, is a participant in the upcoming RCS VoLTE Interoperability Testing Event, which will focus on Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communication Suite (News - Alert) (RCS) testing in home/single networks, roaming & interconnects, non-LTE access and handover scenarios.
The event is organized by the MultiService Forum (MSF), European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI (News - Alert)) and GSMA and focuses on validating core network interfaces to ensure multivendor deployment strategies for SCS and VoLTE strategies. It is hosted by China Mobile in the China Mobile Research Institute Laboratory in Beijing and by Telecom Slovenia Group in Sintesio, Kranj, Slovenia. The event is scheduled to run through mid-October 2012.
D2's mCUE, a converged 4G mobile communications client for VoLTE, RCS and IP video calling applications, is part of the interoperability event. The industry’s first IP communications client to be deployed by a 4G mobile operator, mCUE is field proven and provides carrier-grade voice and video quality, as well as demonstrated interoperability (IOT).
D2 is the recognized leader in VoIP and converged IP communications software for devices used in 4G and next-generation networks that deliver advanced communication services, such as VoIP and VoLTE and IMS-based RCS.
Manufacturers and service providers rely on D2 software to deliver carrier-grade IP communications across any network (LTE (News - Alert), WiMAX, cellular, WiFi, broadband, PSTN), service (voice, video, IM chat, SMS, presence/status, etc.) and system (carrier, IPPBX, UC, OTT, social network, etc.) for a broad range of fixed and mobile devices. D2 Technologies’ mCUE and vPort products are available for use by manufacturers in a wide variety of product segments covering consumer, enterprise and carrier devices.
This is the second time that D2 Technologies has been accepted to participate in the global interoperability event. This year, the event will focus on validating key network interfaces to ensure multi-vendor deployment strategies for RCS, VoLTE, LTE, EPC and IMS technologies, and will endorse and test a number of GSMA (News - Alert) Product Requirement Documents and testing scenarios. It builds on the major success of the previous VoLTE Interoperability Event that took place in September 2011.
"The RCS VoLTE Interoperability event reflects the MSF's commitment to carrier-driven interoperability events that validate key emerging standards and technologies, including key network interfaces that ensure multi- vendor deployment strategies for RCS/LTE/EPC/IMS technology. We are pleased that D2 Technologies is participating at the 2012 event," said Kyu-Ouk Lee, MSF president.
