Enterasys Networks, a premier global provider of wired and wireless network infrastructure and security solutions, has recently announced the launch of new capabilities for private cloud. Enterasys (News - Alert) Networks launch includes a portfolio of solutions which have been designed to offer customers flexible options for implementing and managing enterprise cloud wireless solutions, with new options for premise-based, cloud-based, and managed offerings.
In a release, Chris Crowell, president and CEO of Enterasys Networks said that, "The explosion of connected devices, applications and user mobility demands, coupled with increasingly complex deployment scenarios for both wired and wireless networks, is straining IT and driving up TCO. Some of the key features of the Enterasys Cloud Wireless include, Centralized management for private cloud deployment scenarios, Intelligent and survivable access points with robust local switching and filtering capabilities, Enterasys Network Management Suite (NMS) and OpenScale Managed Wireless Services. The NMS offers enhanced mobility, wireless network visibility and control, significantly improving the network reliability and performance for end-user productivity. The NMS has the ability to instantly locate information about an individual user or group of users, offers easy real-time access to the status of the wireless network and improved control capabilities.
In December 2010, Enterasys Networks announced the latest release of the Enterasys Intrusion (News - Alert) Prevention Solution (IPS), a comprehensive solution featuring patented distributed intrusion prevention technology which simultaneously addresses the widest variety of network and host-based threats. The latest version of Enterasys IPS now extends its network protection to enterprises deploying the IPv6 standard.
